Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek - 27 Days

Set off for a journey to applaud beauty of the Tsum Valley, also known as the Hidden Gems and a land of monasteries, which lies on the northern part of Manaslu on the Nepal-Tibet border. The lush and wild landscape of Tsum valley, passes, deep gorges, hamlets, gompas, chortens and the glittering snow on the apex touching mountain peak is magnificent that will leave you in awe. The trekking to Manaslu begins from the lower side of Arughat and continues the journey to the remote region of Tsum. Tsum Valley Manaslu Trek is a recently opened trail that has gained attraction of many travel lovers however the travellers in the region are very less owing to its difficult terrain and very simple accommodation facility. The biggest achievement of Tsum valley and Manaslu Trek is a crossing over the Larke Pass/Larkya La Pass (5160m) which is getting more and more popular as a new trekking destination.

The trek begin from Arughat(600m) where the trek is followed by raging Budhi Gandaki River staying in tea houses in the villages of Soti Khola (710m), maccha (930m), Jagat (1,410m) and Eklebhatti, heading to north east the route will take into the beautiful Tsum Valley heading for the village of MuGompa (3800m). Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek is a delightful journey that takes you into the majestic surroundings of the Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, Hiunchuli and Boudha Himal ranges and strolling along the rapids of Budhi Gandaki River, Machha Khola and Soti Khola.

Furthermore, you can pass through the alpine forest, glacial river and also view a mixture of terraced fields and hill villages, visit the various monasteries among them largest Monastery is Mu Gompa (3,700m) and enjoy the warm hospitality. During our journey, everything we encounter on our trail gives a likeness of Tibetan Buddhist culture. The people in the region have been able to preserve their uniqueness as modernization and commercialization have not touched the purity of environment.

Itinerary


Day 1 Arrive Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel (1,300m/4,264 ft).

Day 2 Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation.

Day 3 Drive to Barpak (2000m/6560ft).

Day 4 Barpark to Laprak (2200m/7216ft): 6-7 hrs.

Day 5 Laprak to Khorlabeshi (875m/2870ft): 7-8 hrs.

Day 6 Khorlabeshi to Jagat (1410m/ 4625 ft): 6 hrs.

Day 7 Jagat to Philim (1,590m/ 5215 ft): 3hrs.

Day 8 Philim to Chumling (2363m/7775 ft): 6-7 hours.

Day 9 Chumling to Chokhangparo (3010m/9903ft): 5-6 hours.

Day 10 Chokhangparo to Nile (3361m/11058ft), via Milarepa cave: 6-7 hours.

Day 11 Nile to Bhajyo (Chhekya) (4030m/13218ft): 4 hours.

Day 12 Rest at Bhajyo (Cheekya).

Day 13 Bhajyo to Rachen Gompa: (3240m/10627ft): 6 hrs.

Day 14 Rachen Gompa to Chumje (3230m/10,595ft): 5-6hrs.

Day 15 Chumje for Bihi (3130m/10,266ft): 4-5hrs.

Day 16 Bihi to Namrung (2540m/8331ft): 6 hrs.

Day 17 Trek from Namrung to Lho (3180m/10,430 ft): 4 hrs.

Day 18 Trek from Lho to Samagaon (3530m/11,578 ft): 5-6 hrs.

Day 19 Trek from Sama to Samdo (3860m/12,660 ft): 4-5 hrs.

Day 20 Samdo - High Camp (Ekle Bhatti) (4460m/14,628fy) : 5hrs.

Day 21 High Camp – Bimthang (3,590m/11811ft), 7-8 hours walking.

Day 22 Rest day at Bimthang.

Day 23 Trek Bimthang to Dharapani(1860m/6,100ft): 6-7 hrs.

Day 24 Dharapani - Ghermu (1100m/3608ft): 7 hrs.

Day 25 Ghermu - Besisahar (800m/2625 ft): 4 hrs.

Day 26 Drive Besi Sahar to Kathmandu by bus: 7-8 hrs.

Day 27 Farewell, friends.
