Tent Peak Climbing

The peak which is best suited to those who are intending to step up from trekking to beginner mountaineering is Tent peak. Tent peak is of height 5663 m and also known as Tharpu Chuli.The peak was nicknamed “Tent Peak “by Jimmy Roberts in 1956. It offer the best short trekking peak climbing experience in the Annapurna region way beyond simply trekking. Tent peak climbing is an exciting and challenging approach in the Annapurna region of Nepal. It includes the trek to the picturesque Annapurna Base Camp with few days of peak climbing that makes it a very popular trekking peak climbing in Annapurna region.
Besides offering a moderately difficult mountaineering expedition, the trek up to the Tent peak and return combines the central attractions of Annapurna region in a single route. Both trekking and peak climbing experience will be at once. The best season for climbing Tent peak is Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) . During these seasons the weather will be clear. And enjoy the remarkable views of the Himalayas.

Itinerary


Day 1 Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and overnight stay at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 2 Drive from Pokhara to Nayapul by car, which takes approximately one and half hours.

Day 3 Trek from Tirkhedhunga to Ghorepani and it takes about 6 hours.

Day 4 Trek from Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani which takes about 5 and half hours.

Day 5 Trek from Tadapani to Ghandruk which takes about 3 hours.

Day 6 Trek from Ghandruk to Chhumrung which takes about 4 and half hours.

Day 7 Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan and it takes about 6 hours.

Day 8 Trek from Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp which takes about 6 hours.

Day 9 Trek from Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp and it takes about 4 and half hours.

Day 10 Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Ten Peak Base Camp which takes about five hours.

Day 11 Trek from Ten Peak Base Camp to High Camp and it takes about five hours.

Day 12 Rest at Ten Peak High Camp. This is an acclimatization day for the preparation of Singu Chuli summit.

Day 13 Climb Ten Peak Camp I.

Day 14 Summit the Tharpu peak (Tent peak) and back to high camp.

Day 15 Trek from High Camp to Annapurna Base Camp which takes about six hours.

Day 16 Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Dovan  which takes about 5 and half hours.

Day 17 Trek from Dovan to Jhinudanda  and it takes about 5 and half hours.

Day 18 Trek from Jhinudanda to Pothana which takes about 6 hours.

Day 19 Pothana - Dhampus Phedi - Pokhara.

Day 20 Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu by tourist mini bus that takes about seven hours.
