Island Peak Climbing - 17 Days

Island Peak Climbing is great first Himalayan PEak in the region of Mount Everest. It is of altitude 6183 meter and known as Imja Tse in Nepal. It is not among the Himalayan giants but nevertheless provides an exhilarating mountaineering experience to the beginner and expert alike. The Island Peak climbing is physically demanding but not technically challenging. It is a spectacular extension to a fabulous adventure into the Everest region. The route to the summit includes a sharp slope and a narrow ridge. Climbers feel interesting and attractive with a highly glaciated west face rising from the Lhotse Glacier.

The Island Peak climbing not only provides an enjoyable climb but also provides some of the different spectacular scenery of Himalayas in the Khumbu Region including the Mt. Everest 8848 m, Mt. Nuptse 7,855m, Lhotse 8,516m, Lhotse Middle Peak 8,410m and Lhotse Shar 8,383m make a semicircle in the north. This climbing is for all normal walker and climbers because no technical mountaineering experience is necessary to climb Island Peak, simply a high level of fitness the desire to push your limits. Besides trekking adventure, it will be a cultural adventure to see the Sherpa villages and the Buddhist monasteries.

Crampons, Ice-axe, and ropes are necessary during climbing. And it is useful to have a Sherpa guide who knows the best part of the ridge to climb. And Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best months for this trip. Although Island Peak can be climbed during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

Day 4 Namche bazaar: Rest and Acclimatization day.

Day 5 Namche Bazaar to Tengboche.

Day 6 Tengboche to Dingboche.

Day 7 Dingboche: Rest and Acclimatization Day.

Day 8 Dingboche to Lobuche.

Day 9 Lobuche To Gorakshep And Everest Base Camp.

Day 10 EBC To Kalapather And Dingboche.

Day 11 Dingboche To Island Peak Base Camp, Climbing Training.

Day 12 Island Peak: Summit, Return To Chukung.

Day 13 Chukung To Tengboche.

Day 14 Tengboche To Namche Or Manju.

Day 15 Namche To Phakding And Lukla.

Day 16 Lukla To Kathmandu.

Day 17 Kathmandu: Departure Day.
