The world’s 7th highest mountain in the world at 8167 m above sea level is the Mt. Dhaulagiri. It is bounded on the southeast by tributaries of the Bheri River and on the southeast by Myagdi Khola. It is in Western Development Region of Nepal. Mt. Dhaulagiri is one of the most formidable peaks to climb with the first successful summit only in 1960 by the Swiss following from the Northeast Ridge. Mt. Dhaulagiri is coined from the Sanskrit word ‘Dhavala Giri’, meaning White Mountain. Dhaulagiri is almost unique in the world in terms of its rise above local terrain where it rises to 7000m over the Kali Gandaki gorge to the south-east in about 30 km of aerial distance.

Best Season for Climbing
Autumn and Spring will be the best season to climb the Mt. Dhaulagiri. During Autumn and Spring season the weather will be good and less chance of rainfall due to which the climber can easily climb the mountain.
